The Association of Cubans in the United Kingdom (Cubanos en UK) categorically rejects any attempt at military aggression or threat against Cuba. We call on Cubans residing in the United Kingdom and throughout the world to speak out against the threats issued this Sunday against Cuba by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, through his social media platform, Truth Social.

We demand that differences be resolved through dialogue and negotiation, as has been repeatedly proposed by the government of Cuba, standing as equals, without pressure, threats, or imposed conditions.

Calls for a so-called “humanitarian intervention” are circulating on social media, promoted by sectors of far-right extremists, seeking to justify a foreign military intervention from outside Cuba. Anyone with even a shred of humanity, regardless of their ideology or religion, must surely oppose war, which only brings destruction and suffering to nations.

To the “unbelievers” who still deny the existence of the blockade, we only need to recall the recent statements of Donald Trump himself, who declared that there would be no oil shipments to Cuba, with the intention of depriving the country of energy for transportation, industry, schools, hospitals, and homes. To support these warmongering policies is to support the suffering and suffocation of the Cuban people.

These aggressions against Cuba will only further strengthen revolutionary consciousness, national pride, and the Cuban people's determination to defend their sovereignty and independence. Cuba is not a colony of anyone. Surrender has never been an option. Trump's advisors should study Cuba's history and the legacy of its heroes.

This is not the first threat. Since 1959, the United States has organized and financed hostile actions against Cuba, including the Bay of Pigs invasion, covert operations, terrorist acts, and a brutal economic war. Trump himself went so far as to say “I don't think you can put much more pressure, unless you go in and wreck the place”

Both before and after the triumph of the Revolution, Fidel Castro lived under constant threats, with more than 600 documented assassination attempts on his life, planned and financed by the CIA. Despite this, Cuban leaders have maintained that it's a leader's duty to avoid war as "avoiding war is equivalent to winning it, but to win it through avoidance, it is necessary to work hard to be ready. Rivers of sweat are preferable to rivers of blood." This does not mean being intimidated, but rather being prepared. The United States possesses weapons capable of destroying Cuba, which they have always used to threaten our people, but they know that Cuba is the sum of its people.

The United States continues to violate international law and the United Nations Charter through the use of force and deception. We urge the U.S. government to attend to its own internal affairs, to the demands of its people, and to the serious repercussions that its international policies have on world peace and stability.

No to War!
End the Blockade!
